HIVQUAL in Uganda![]() ![]() HIVQUAL Uganda was piloted with 7 core indicators in 20 sites in 4 regions: Jinja, Mbarara, Soroti, and Kibale-Hoima. There are plans to expand to all CDC-supported sites in the country, as well as new sites in the northern region. The program completed the first data report in January 2007. After baseline data collection, regional quality improvement trainings were held, in which each pilot site chose a focus area for improvement based on their own data. In December 2007, a second data collection was completed, showing improvements across most indicators and at most sites after the implementation of their quality improvement projects. Expansion efforts are currently underway to an additional 80 sites throughout Uganda, and in 2007 a set of pediatric indicators were developed for use at pediatric sites. HIVQUAL Uganda is led by the Ministry of Health, which is also collaborating with UNICEF on the development of HIVQUAL-Uganda for pediatric care.
